Lincoln Theater

MBX Architecture worked with a non-for profit to renovate this Rocco style, historic theater in downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming. The original use of the 1920’s building was live theater and musical performances. The performance theater was renovated in the 1950’s into a movie theater and the Rocco detailing was added. Throughout the years, several renovations chopped up the layout, enclosed the upper balcony, and hid many of the historic features including the stage. Our latest renovation opened up the balcony, exposed hidden historic features, and will bring back live music to this incredible building. The design includes a new layout in the main auditorium to accommodate standing crowds, removes non-historicwalls and seating, opens up the balcony, utilizes the large stage, adds a bar, and renovates both the restrooms and dressing rooms. None of the historic features were removed, but instead were given new life with paint and rehabilitation.
